2006 Brownfields Conference to Be in Boston The 2006 national Brownfields Conference will be November 13-15 in Boston, Massachusetts. Click here for more information and on-line registration. HSRC Center Compiles and Distributes Technical Information for Hurricane Evacuees The South & Southwest HSRC has released a four-page publication with environmental information for Gulf Coast residents returning home in the aftermath of the recent hurricanes. Materials from Community Involvement Conference on Web The Proceedings of the 2005 EPA Community Involvement Conference have been published online, including a variety of downloadable materials from the sessions. Click here to go to this site. TOSC/TAB Brochure Available On Web A brochure with information on the TOSC and TAB programs is now available on this web site. Official EPA Definition of "Brownfields Site" Changes with New Law When the new brownfields legislation, "Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act," was signed into law January 11, the official definition of a "brownfields site" was modified. The new definition is: "With certain legal exclusions and additions, the term 'brownfield site' means real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant."
